A Europe travel guide can help you plan your trip of a lifetime, and it can also help you to find the cheapest prices on travel, accommodation, and many of the activities you will want to follow on your trip. There are a great many paper guides which you can buy, some of which go back a great many years.
Although these guides are updated and published regularly, they can never contain the most up to date information. Even if the publishers are notified of a change immediately, they have to wait until the next issue is published before the change can be included.
If you are trying to save as much money as possible, you may be able to pick up a copy of the guide from your local library. If you do, it may be an older edition than the one being sold in the shops. This will be perfectly good for many things which have remained constant for years, for example if you were planning a trip to London’s museums, but for many of your plans it may not be good enough.
The good news is that the Internet has made it possible for information to be published to the whole world at a very cheap price, and for that information to be kept constantly up to date.
Even the publishers of the famous paper guides have realized that they need an online version of their product. There is nothing wrong with picking up a paper version and using it as the basis of your planning, but the Internet should be used to finalize details, and especially for pricing and current availability.
The Europe travel guide can show you at a glance what is available to you on your trip. If you are planning a city trip, or a trip to a specific region, a travel guide will show you the options available.
It has to be said that travel guides have a tendency to only know a fraction of the facilities available in any major city. This applies to accommodation, entertainment facilities, and things to do especially. If you are really looking to get to know a city, you will need to dig deeper.
The Internet search engines are your best bet for uncovering the facilities which are not mentioned in the major travel guides. Many of the smaller bed and breakfast hotels only have very basic websites, but at least you can find them that way.
If you are looking for the famous landmarks and major institutions of a city, you will doubtless find them in the travel guides. If, on the other hand, you are looking for good entertainment at value prices, you may have to dig deeper again.
Even in long established areas such as classical music, many of a city’s venues will often stay beneath the radar, unless they happen to be included in major media publications. You are far more likely to find these places using the Internet than a Europe travel guide.
